Conflicting demands of work and home, worries about the future, and endless activities can be overwhelming. Even the best of parents sometimes find themselves stressed by demands they cannot keep up with. Constant pressure can turn into anxiety that diminishes your quality of life and keeps you up at night. This can interfere with your to ability to keep calm and skillfully navigate the daily challenges of childrearing. By the end of the day you may be exhausted, longing for time for yourself to slow down and savor this time of life.
Calm parenting can help the parents of all children –healthy, ill, old, young, high need, low need special need. It is not a set of rules about how to raise your child. It is a skill based approach to parenting. The work is highly customized. I will help you learn to control reactivity, maintain or regain calm and make wise decisions in even the most challenging situations.

While all parenting is stressful, parenting children with medical, developmental or emotional conditions brings additional challenges. You may be managing endless appointments, conflicting needs of family members, anxiety about the future and financial pressures to name a few. You may have feelings of anger, depression or despair. It can be overwhelming.
It is hard to find time for yourself when the needs of your child are so compelling. But when stress is prolonged or unrelenting, it can be harmful. Calm Parenting is a way to take better care of yourself and your child at the same time.

Trained in Eastern and Western approaches to relaxation, I will help find the best way for you to achieve a calm mindset and apply it in challenging circumstances. You will learn to create islands of calm in the midst of busy days to keep your overall stress level manageable. You will learn how to stay connected to your own resources and your child through the ups and downs of even the busiest day. This work will support you going forward as a calm and confident parent.
